Heal PTSD Safely with the Rewind Technique – “closure without disclosure”
Using the Rewind Technique, I can help you overcome trauma, flashbacks, and nightmares without reliving the memory or sharing its details. Using a gentle, non-disclosure approach, this method reduces emotional triggers, boosts confidence, and supports lasting emotional healing.
2-3 sessions are often enough, with a follow up session at 3 months.

PTSD and Rewind
PTSD can affect anyone who has gone through or witnessed a traumatic experience, such as a violent attack, serious accident, or sudden medical emergency that made them fear for their life.
Symptoms can include: intrusive memories or flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance of reminders of the trauma, negative changes in mood and thinking, such as guilt, shame, or hopelessness; hyperarousal symptoms, like being easily startled or constantly “on edge”.
The Muss Rewind Technique (MRT™) — often simply called the Rewind Technique — is a therapeutic intervention for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It was first introduced by Dr. David Muss in 1991 in the British Journal of Clinical Psychology, where he published one of the earliest studies showing successful treatment of PTSD in a group of police officers.
The technique is widely used in the NHS and private practice settings across the UK and has been the subject of NHS-conducted trials.

Closure without Disclosure – What Makes the Rewind Technique Unique
The Rewind Technique is different from traditional therapies because it does not require you to disclose the details of your traumatic experience. Using a non-disclosure approach, a therapist guides you into a relaxed state and helps you visualize the memory in reverse — all without describing or reliving the trauma. Benefits of this approach include:
Reduced risk of re-traumatization: Process trauma safely without intense emotional reliving.
Overcoming barriers to therapy: Works even when shame, embarrassment, or cultural sensitivities might make traditional talk therapy difficult.
Confidential and comfortable process: You maintain privacy while still achieving effective healing.
After the Rewind Technique: What to Expect
Following a Rewind Technique session, many people notice both immediate and longer-term changes in how they feel and respond to trauma-related memories or triggers.
Many clients feel deeply relaxed and emotionally lighter, though it’s normal to experience some mental or emotional fatigue as the brain continues processing the memory.

Immediate and Short-Term Effects
Relaxation and emotional release: You may feel calm yet mentally or emotionally tired after the session.
Ongoing improvement: Your brain continues integrating the memory over the following days, often leading to steady progress.
Subtle sense of change: You may not immediately notice what’s different, but you’ll recognize it when encountering former triggers without distress.
Long-Term Benefits
Reduced trauma symptoms: Flashbacks, nightmares, and fear related to the trauma often decrease or disappear.
Fewer emotional triggers: Situations that previously caused distress may no longer provoke a strong reaction.
Greater confidence and well-being: Clients report feeling stronger, happier, and more in control of their emotions.
Ability to discuss trauma safely: Talking about the memory becomes easier, without overwhelming distress.
Follow-Up and Lasting Change
A follow-up session is typically scheduled to assess progress and support long-term improvements. Many clients notice a meaningful difference shortly after treatment — sometimes only realizing the impact when they face an old trigger and respond with calm confidence.
